Urban camping in Atlanta (visit #3)–Big Trip #2

We were in Atlanta in October 2018 as part of Big Trip #2. Read about our other Atlanta Airstream visits here: visit #1 | visit #2 | visits #4 & #5 | visit #6 | visit #7

We’d had Oakhurst Porchfest on our calendar for six months, and it slotted nicely into our Big Trip travel plans. Once again, we stayed in the fanciest and privatest of campgrounds, in our cousin’s driveway, right in the heart of Oakhurst. Porchfest was fantastic, and although we stayed close to home all weekend, we were able fit in a few more Oakhurst experiences during our short stay:

Play

Porchfest!

Running with Bugsy on the Atlanta PATH paved trail

Food

revolution doughnuts

Donuts from Revolution Doughnuts

Pizza from Mojo Pizza

Sandwiches, salads, and noodles from Victory Sandwich (just outside Oakhurst in Decatur or Inman Park)

Red velvet layer cake from Piece of Cake

Drink

Growlers from Ale Yeah

Coffee to go for kiddie soccer spectating from Kavarna

Oakhurst has got to be the best neighborhood in Atlanta/Decatur. We are so happy to have a home base there!
