We were in Memphis in late October 2020, as part of Big Trip #3. Read about our first visit in 2017 here, and subsequent visits in 2022 here and 2023 here.

We are flying back East! Colorado to Kansas to Missouri to Tennessee (sort of), where we could take it easy for a day. We stayed at the same campground we did our first time through on our first Big Trip in 2016: Tom Sawyer’s RV Park, across the river from Memphis, Tennessee, in West Memphis, Arkansas. I really love this campground for its location ON the Mississippi River!

While in Memphis, we had two goals:
- Sit by the trailer and watch the container ships chug by on the Mississippi.
- Get some barbecue for J.

There wasn’t much activity on the Mighty Mississip while we were watching, but it was fun looking for boats and getting excited when one did cruise by.

On the way out of town, J picked up barbecue from Central BBQ. We were able to park the Airstream in the lot behind the Summer Ave location with no problem.

That is all we did in Memphis and it was glorious! Go back and read the Crested Butte post if you’re bored!
