Superior Bathhouse has a few things going for it. For starters, it’s the only brewery located in a U.S. National Park. Housed in a former hot springs bathhouse in Hot Springs, the park itself is a bit unusual–commemorating American’s pre-WWII obsession with hot springs, the park is largely composed of a handful of city blocks containing former, and in a few cases current, bathhouses.
Superior Bathhouse is also the only brewery in Hot Springs. We were there on a very rainy day and happy to be indoors drinking decent beer. The brewery is less than a year old and seems off to a pretty good start. We were happy enough with the IPA, the Pale and the Kolsch.
As for the atmosphere, it still seems a work in progress. The space is large for what it is, and one corner also houses an ice cream store, which may be a bit out of place with a brewery. There appeared to be a smaller tasting room off to the side that was closed when we were there, which seemed like potentially a better drinking atmosphere.
